The Rodskog Story

A Redwood and a Passionate Principal

My husband is Norwegian, and when we married, I took his last name, Rodskog, which in Norwegian means red forest. This was significant to me because at the time, we were living in San Francisco, my favorite town in the world, which is home to some of the most beautiful redwoods to be found. The symbolism of the redwood - growth through this partnership with him, to me, provided me much inspiration.

My husband relayed to me the history of his name. It turns out that the family name was originally Anderson - a nice, traditional, Norwegian last name. However, his great-grandfather decided to change it to reflect the school at which he was principal, The Rodskog School. This also was significant to me. This man was so passionate about his life's work that he changed his family name to pay tribute. My wish is that all of us are so engrossed and in love with our work, that we want to BE it, like my husband's great-grandfather. That is my goal with my clients: to find and nurture the passion within you!

I created Rodskog Change Consulting (RCC) as a way to marry my background as a corporate change management consultant with my passion for facilitating and coaching individuals.

RCC helps people grow through change. In a time where change is imminent, personally and professionally, people are seeking assistance to get to where they want to be and not just get bumped along down the path. RCC provides the tools, the methodologies, the partnership and the love to get there.

Change can happen to you, or it can be planned. In either case, you are moving from a current, as-is state to a future, to-be state. RCC will help ensure that the to-be state is one in which the individual has more control over the outcomes of the changes in their life, leading to a happier, more fulfilled life.

Experience

I'm an experienced consultant in the field of organizational development and change management. My 14 years of experience spans both large-scale, multi-million dollar projects to small, independent one-on-one consulting relationships. I built foundation skills and methodologies while working at Accenture for five years in the Change Management Practice where I was a Manager. I then continued to expand those competencies through developing a start-up financial services internet company, collaborating with a niche change management consulting company, and, finally, consulting independently. I have worked with a diverse set of clients from Fortune 500 to startup companies, including Dow Chemical, Chevron, PMI Mortgage Group, Country Companies Insurance, Gateway Computers and AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. I am also currently working with the Executive MBA and MBA candidates at Columbia University as a Leadership Coach.
